Consulting services to approximately 75 current construction industry clients include auditing and accounting, tax planning, benchmarking and analytical review and immigration compliance audits. Areas like business valuation, maximizing bonding and credit capabilities and budgeting and cash flow analysis are just a few of the services the Scheffel & Co. team can provide to help companies grow their businesses.

The primary goal is to help construction clients get systems in place so they can monitor budgets, helping the construction contractor from an overall perspective down to a job-by-job analysis. Scheffel & Co. has the capabilities to handle everything from small companies to very large construction firms, and due to its specialization and available resources, the services and solutions offered to construction clients exceeds those of the typical CPA firm.

Scheffel is one of only 12 founding member firms in the Construction Accounting Network (CAN) formed to serve the needs of construction companies through the BDO Seidman Alliance, a nationwide association of independently owned local and regional accounting, consulting and service firms.

CAN expands the national reach of member firms, collectively serving more than 1,000 construction industry clients. Member firms draw on resources of the entire membership to serve clients and their specific needs throughout the country. CAN offers a contractor-specific "Tool Box" designed to uncover opportunities to help businesses in the unique construction industry work with professionals like Scheffel & Co. who understand their needs. CAN is working to partner with national organizations, like The Associated General Contractors of America, to provide educational webinars for construction companies to include timely topics such as "How to Survive and Thrive in a Down Economy."

George Moore, Travis Klingler and various staff members are also intricately involved in Scheffel & Co.'s construction team.
